September 2011

September was a busy month for us. Looking back now, I cannot believe how much we did. Simon turned 6 months old in September and stayed happy and chubby.

We flew to San Diego and had an amazing time. We spent time at my aunt and uncles house and thoroughly enjoyed their pool.

Lila and Launi got brave and started jumping off of the diving board.

 We went to Balboa park.

Then we made the drive from San Diego to Arizona to visit Jake's family.

Then we drove back to San Diego, enjoyed a gorgeous day at the beach before we had to fly back to Utah.
Simon became an expert at making awesome faces.

We wanted to do one last camping trip before it got too cold.  Launi fell asleep while waiting for us to pack up.
We spent 2 beautiful days in the mountains and had a fabulous time. The kids all slept like little angels, especially considering we were all in one cold tent.

Launi started preschool (actually in the very end of August) and loved it so much, at least most days.
On September 11th, we went to this neat memorial that had a flag up for every person who died that day.
It seemed like the flags went on endlessly, it was so overwhelming to walk through them all.
Attached to the flags were little cards, each about a person who had passed away. I was an emotional mess but it was incredible to read sweet stories about so many people.
Launi fell asleep putting on chapstick on the way home.  I wonder if one day she'll get over falling asleep right in the middle of things.
